Mission
The mission of the texas association of county auditors is to support the membership by providing education and resources to assist in the performance of their official duties in an independent, professional, and innovative manner; therefore, enhancing efficient and effective county government.goals are to develop structured professional education programs; to be more responsive to the membership through enhanced communications; actively participate in the legislative process; and promote public awareness of the county auditor.
Programs

The annual taca institute brings together county auditors and their assistants from throughout the state to receive training and to discuss laws, statutes, governmental accounting, and other issues confronting both the county auditors office and the county in general. The april 2024 county auditor's institute was held in college station and provided training for approximately 295 participants.
On the road area training(otrat)provides additional opportunities for training for county auditors and their staff. Texas county auditors are required to obtain 40 hours of continuing education in each two year appointment. Training events are scheduled to be held each fiscal year. The february 2024 otrat event was held in mineral wells. It provided training for approximately 57 participants. A virtual otrat event was held online in july 2024. It provided training for approximately 76 participants.
