Workshops and training - the association has contracted with the nationally recognized spoken word to provide media/crisis training to school administrators at an affordable fee. The association has trained thousands of people in public schools regarding media, crisis situations, public meetings, and effective presentations. Contest & awards - the annual star awards is the associations communication contest providing recognition for the outstanding education communications and projects of our members. Independent judges evaluate approximately 1,000 entries each year and award silver and gold star awards, best of category, crystal commendations, and the platinum award for an all encompassing year-long project. The contest promotes the role of the school public relations profession and provides feedback of original work and designs by professional experts in the private public sectors.
