Theatrefest: annual convention offers training and education for current theatre practitioners, as well as, future educators. Included in this live event is a variety of theatre and film-related workshops; a playwriting contest (playfest); a design contest (designfest); a film contest (filmfest); and scholarship auditions!

Summerfest is an intensive three-day professional development opportunity for theatre educators, directors, and professional artists from all over texas. Opportunities to develop skills for theatre practitioners working at all grade levels and in multiple areas of interest - including directing, design, and production - are available at this event. In addition, participants have invaluable networking opportunities and become a part of a remarkable community. Summerfest is the original summer professional development for texas theatre teachers and is sponsored by the txeta k-12 committee.

The purpose of the higher education research & creative conference is to provide a forum for scholars, teachers, students, professionals, and others interested in the scholarly inquiry of theatre-related topics. Attendees gather to present papers, roundtable discussions, and poster/digital presentations and discuss the ideas set forth as a group, thus creating an opportunity to share ideas and promote scholarship in the academic and professional theatre community. While special consideration is given to submissions intersecting with the determined annual theme, scholarly research presentations focusing on any topic relating to all aspects of theatre studies are welcomed.the state oap mini-conference is a two-day professional development opportunity taught by leading theatre educators and directors. As the event coincides with the u.i.l. One act play state meet, workshops will center around one act play. Workshops will include sessions on directing one act play and working creatively within the rules and post state production discussions.
