Tnf's education programs include: texas team action coalition, care for the caregiver, and district scholarships. Texas team action coalition, in collaboration with the aarp's center to champion nursing, exists to advance health through nursing. The work of texas team includes facilitating transitions in nursing practice and provides other educational resources to nurses to advance health in their communities. The care for the caregiver project was made possible by a gift from johnson & johnson and involved the development and dissemination of resources for nurses to build their resilience in dealing with disaster situations. Tnf provides administrative support to local district organizations who raise money for nursing student scholarships.
The tnf board approved awards to attend the texas nurses association (tna) annual conference. The foundation board of directors awards these funds to support the continuing nursing education of up to three (3) conference attendees. The foundation has written procedures for award eligibility, application and dissemination of awarded funds.
