Mission

We recognize that dog and cat overpopulation is a major burden on our communities resulting in many unwanted animals. The most effective way to prevent this is sterilization; therefore, our goal is to spay and neuter as many animals as possible. We are a fundraising and networking organization, dedicated to raising funds for animal rescue work, including but not limited to the spay and neuter of dogs and cats. We promote camaraderie and networking amoung animal rescue groups and individuals involved in improving animal welfare. Our plan is to work to bring in more funding so that we can be a bigger part of the solution the the problem of animal homelessness and continue to reduce the shelter intake and euthanasia rates in our local communities. The funds we raise are used to assist with expenses for sterilization, vaccines, and extreme medical procedures needed to save or improve the quality of life for companion animals.

Vet assist program - to provide financial assistance with the expense of procedures that save or improve the lives of companion animals. Often animals are put down or suffer needlessly because their owners cannot afford expensive life saving medical treatment. In 2024 we provided assistance to 309 cats and 134 dogs.

Pet care program - to provide pet food and supplies to people that foster dogs or cats or community cat colony caregivers. It includes purchase and use of vaccines and other bulk medication and humane traps and carriers. As of may 2023, we have a license to shelter and adopt out animals. Ga department of agriculture issued animal shelter license 33-33119848 to that's what friends are for inc dba friends of felines. This enables us to foster and adopt out cats.
