To help north carolinians make healthy choices that increase positive health behaviors.

Nutrition and physical activity education (snap-ed)in an effort to increase healthy nutrition and physical activity with eligible individuals and those who receive supplemental nutrition assistance, the poe center provides education on healthy dietary habits and the importance of physical activity through direct education sessions, policies, systems, and environmental changes, as well as social marketing initiatives.

Substance use prevention: in an effort to reduce substance use initiation, the poe center increases protective factors and decreases risk factors for substance use through direct educational sessions, resource dissemination, social marketing, and community-based engagement that addresses policies and system changes.
