Mission

The arc of colorado provides individual and systems change advocacy for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities (idd) residing in colorado and their families.

Programs

2 programs

The arc of colorado, in collaboration with 14 local chapters works on legislative education and sound public policy in all executive branches of government. Collectively, the network advocates for policy changes to strengthen safety nets, increase inclusive educational opportunities, and protect civil rights for people with idd.

Expenses: $233K

Our rural outreach funding supports our mission to promote and protect the human rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by expanding both individual and systemic advocacy throughout the state. The program's primary purpose is to ensure advocacy and engagement in areas of colorado that lack representation from a local arc chapter. Activities supported include contracted advocacy services, an annual community engagement tour of rural communities, dissemination of information and resources, provision of travel scholarships to promote equitable participation by offsetting travel costs for stakeholders attending educational and advocacy events, and legislative advocacy efforts at the state and national levels.
