The Arc Of Northwest Mississippi

In partnership with the mississippi department of rehabilitation services, the arc northwest mississippi delivers a pre-employment transition services (pre-ets) program for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities, ages 14 to 21. This program equips participants with the skills and experiences needed to succeed in the workforce through individualized coaching,classroom instruction, job shadowing, interactive career fairs, and real-world work internships. This year, over 125 students took part in the pre-ets program, gaining confidence and tools for a brighter, more independent future.

Other membership programs, such as art to achieve, little house art project, sibling workshops,dinner clubs/game nights and fitness activities are hosted on a monthly basis for the disabled and their family members. The arc northwest mississippi is committed to helping individuals with disabilities live fulfilling lives by offering a wide range of social programs and advocacy services. Programs such as social club, parents night out, parent support group, arc art masters, superable fitness, cookies with santa, trunk or treat, and the annual blue block party create opportunities for social interaction and inclusion within the broader community. In addition to these events, we offer personalized advocacy to help individuals and families connect with services, navigate systems, and achieve their personal goals.

The arc of mississippi was founded to include all children and adults with cognitive, intellectual and developmental disabilities in every community. We focus on abilities, respect, choice for all and encourage active citizenship and inclusion in every community.
