CEE breaks the cycle of interpersonal violence in Northern Fairfield & Southern Litchfield Counties through inclusive and trauma-informed education, advocacy, & support services

Programs

Sexual Assault Services: CEE supportsindividuals impacted by sexual violence through it's no cost, on-site support, counseling, and advocacy provided by certified domestic and sexual violence advocates. Its residential facility provides a safe haven for individuals and children fleeing interpersonal violence, offering case management and rehousing assistance. CEE offers short-term counseling for adults and children navigating trauma and ongoing support groups for victims. Advocates help victims navigate the legal system, including Restraining Orders, ensuring their voices are heard. Through prevention and outreach programs reaching over 20,000 annually, CEE aims to break the cycle of violence. With 24-hour hotlines, walk-in services, and a committed Community Impact team, CEE empowers individuals, promotes safety, and works toward creating lasting change in the communities served.

Extended Therapy Program: CEE has developed an Extended Therapy Program (ETP) to address the ongoing barriers survivors of interpersonal violence face in accessing long-term, trauma-informed clinical care. The program is in its development stage and is expected to begin upon completion of all steps to obtain the final approvals.

CEE'S PREVENTION AND TRAINING SERVICES INCREASE PARTICIPANTS' KNOWLEDGE RELATING TO ALL FORMS OF VIOLENCE AND TEACHES SKILLS THAT HELP REDUCE THE RISK OF BECOMING VULNERABLE TO ASSAULT AND PREDATORY BEHAVIOR. THEIR PREVENTION EDUCATION ADDRESSES TOPICS WITH AGE-APPROPRIATE DELIVERY, EMPOWERS STUDENTS, AND EDUCATES THEM ABOUT BULLYING, RESPECT, BOUNDARIES, BODY SAFETY, AND HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS. BY SUPPORTING PROACTIVE SOLUTIONS AND PROVIDING EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS SURROUNDING THESE TOPICS, CEE ACTS BEFORE THE VIOLENCE CAN MANIFEST. SINCE THE BEGINNING OF 2023, CEE HAS PROVIDED OVER 600 PROGRAMS IMPACTING 13,000 PARTICIPANTS. WITH THE IMPACT FFC GRANT, CEE WILL BE ABLE TO ATTAIN THE GOAL OF PROVIDING PROGRAMMING TO 100% OF FAIRFIELD COUNTY SCHOOLS WHILE ALSO INCREASING OUTREACH AND TRAINING FOR PROFESSIONALS IN THE COMMUNITY.
