Mission
The organization provides training to adults and children to help reduce cases of physical and sexual abuse. For cases reported to law enforcement or the dept. Of human services, the organization provides neutral, forensically sound interviews of the victim to assist with the investigation, help stop perpetrators, and help support the victims and their nonoffending caregivers.
Programs
1 program
Child abuse prevention: the ccac provides training to children and caregivers to help them recognize and respond to risks of child physical and sexual abuse. For kindergarten through 5th grade students, the safety smarts program is delivered in elementary school classrooms. Students gain the tools to recognize, refuse, and report attempts to abuse them. Children become active participants in their own safety and preempt common grooming tactics used by would-be perpetrators. An innovative version of safety smart is specially designed for children on the autism spectrum or those with similar learning needs, the first program of its kind for elementary students in colorado. For 4th and 5th grade students, the ccac provides focused internet/online safety training.
