The Discovery Science Place Inc

Discovery science place hosted full steam ahead, a family-friendly festival celebrating creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning. The 2024 event focused on the total solar eclipse and featured exhibits, demonstrations, and activities highlighting astronomy, engineering, and other stem fields. Although attendance remained below pre-pandemic levels, with fewer than 200 participants, the event continued to provide a meaningful opportunity for local makers, educators, and families to explore science and technology together.

Discovery science place hosted more than 8,000 students from across east texas for hands-on field trip experiences aligned with state science standards. These visits encourage curiosity, reinforce classroom learning, and provide opportunities for students to explore stem concepts through interactive exhibits. Under the museum's joint operating agreement with the university of texas at tyler, all field trip revenue is processed through the university.
