Healthy families:during fy 23/24, 99 families received healthy families services. Healthy families florida is a voluntary, nationally accredited home visiting program for expectant parents and parents of newborns experiencing stressful life situations. The program improves childhood outcomes and increases family self-sufficiency by empowering parents through education and community support. The goal of the program is to prevent child abuse and neglect before it ever starts.

Expenses: $625K

Family engagement:during fy 23/24, 437 women, infants and fathers were referred for family engagement services.215 participants received c.a.r.e. Specialist services. C.a.r.e (coordinating resources advocacy and education) specialists provide front-end outreach services to high-risk families to ensure connection to a healthcare provider and linkage to early intervention support and programs. 41 participants received nurse home visiting services. Nurse home visiting ensures high risk infants, including substance-exposed newborns, and their families receive evidence-based early intervention home visiting services and connects parents/caregivers with professionals and resources.32 participants received fatherhood services. Fatherhood services equip fathers with self-awareness, compassion and sense of responsibility through a curriculum developed by the national fatherhood initiative.27 participants received grow doula services. A doula is a non-medical professional trained to support mothers and families with physical, emotional, and evidence-based information before, during, and after birth to ensure that a mother, baby, and family achieve the healthiest, most rewarding birth experience possible.
