Hdfs education and literacy program is geared towards providing educational services to children in marginalized communities. A network of formal and non-formal schools helps the children to learn. The formal schools are equipped with modern facilities such as computer labs, science labs, smart boards, and remote learning capabilities. The schools are instrumental in teaching kids better decision making, critical thinking along with regular education and including critical areas of gender equality and community participation. Various scholarships are also offered to qualifying students.

Hdfs environment program supports the eco-system and provides basic facilities such as clean drinking water to the communities. Additionally, sanitation facilities are built as well as activities are undertaken for waste management and disposal. Community physical infrastructure (cpi) projects are undertaken by completing provision of water hand pumps, tube wells, water channels lining, sewerage system, flood control structures, water retaining reservoirs and construction of delay action/check dams. Similarly with tree plantation drives efforts are made to minimize the environmental degradation.
