The Korean American Institute

Kai's second program was researching, developing, and publishing a comprehensive online map and directory of every korean american who has been elected to serve in public office. The project also included efforts to build a network of professional support for and among such policymakers. Kai spent $26,364.23 to conduct research about elected officials, to interview some of them for inclusion in the directory, and to retain information technology services for coding, designing, and hosting the map and directory to be displayed on the kai website.

Kai's third program was launching an internship and fellowship program for students and recent graduates to learn about issues of importance to the korean american community and to conduct research and analysis of such information to share publicly. The program provides students and recent graduates with professional development and other work skills, and opportunities to meet experienced leaders in the korean american community. Kai spent $24,150.94 to support this training program.
