The Loudoun Symphony Association Inc

The loudoun symphony youth orchestra(lsyo)provides opportunities for varying levels of experienced young musicians to perform with a large ensemble outside of an academic setting. Lsyo served 210 students who participated in one of four ensembles each led by a professional conductor. Participation is by audition and subject to an annual tuition fee. Need- based scholarships are also provided. Lsyo presented three live concerts and also offered a week long summer orchestral institute featuring intensive practice and performance opportunities for beginning, intermediate and advanced young musicians.

Contract performances - the lso performed a tribute concert honoring film composer michael giacchino at the 2023 middleburg film festival. The lso also presented a special program, one planet, one community, which included a community art gallery and concert featuring visuals, and musical performances accompanied by ice volunteer and professional ice dancers. Contract performances also include payments to musicians who perform at events organized by businesses or other outside groups.

The association made contributions to various local high school music programs.
