Program service-retreat accomplishments: msp hosted its 2023 retreat and the theme was "we are the blueprint. Dream about it, scream about it, be about it." approximately 1,100 students from across montgomery county participated in the day-long retreat at northwest high school. It included student-led workshops on restorative justice, what is anti-racism, what is racism, and unity in our community. It also included a talent show where students not only shared their talents but also honored and recognized their cultural heritages.
Program service-task force accomplishments: there are 25 high schools, 25+ middle schools, and 8 elementary schools that actively operate msp chapters in montgomery county public schools (mcps), md. Supported by msp advisors, students in school chapters led initiatives such as taskforce meetings and organizing events and projects around microaggressions, anti-racism, and other equity-related topics such as international night, diversity nights, or african diaspora night.
