The Museum Of The African Diaspora

Education programs for elementary, middle school and college students within the region, including special needs students and their teachers. Included in this area are specific exhibits linked to specific curricula, professional development educators' workshops, a core curriculum on the african diaspora for students in grades 6-12, school group tours and field trips, and a vocational preparedness training program that provides practical, skill based training in digital media to youth from schools in underserved bay area communities.

Public programs feature family programs, colloquia, lectures, workshops, interactive demonstrations, film screenings, gallery talks, and the heritage center which offers oral history and heritage programs, adult tours, book readings, dance, music and theatrical performances. These activities aim to educate, entertain and challenge audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
