Strengthen public perception of nonprofits' value in the social, civic and economic ecosystem. The foundation routinely does this through media outreach, publication and promotion of thought leadership from sector leaders, and consumer research and analysis. Key activities in 2024 included a new psa release promoting the impact of nonprofits in everday life and a national public attitudinal research study.
The leading edge student internship program launched in 2022 to elevate the visibility of college-age job candidates, particularly those in underrepresented and first-generation student populations, within the employer job market and enable first job placements that can lead to a career path in the social good sector. In 2024, leading edge placed twenty students in paid internships with nonprofit sector employers in the washington, dc, and new york city areas. The foundation provides one-on-one support for the interns and their employer managers, educational programming, and informal virtual mentorship meet-ups. The program will continue to expand in 2025 to more students and employers in washington, dc, new york city, and chicago.
