Mission
Workin Bridges is dedicated to historic bridge preservation and education in restorative processes. Our most significant 2024 accomplishment was finding and moving to the new property that will allow for the educational aspects of preservation. New board members were sought and the annual meeting where we chose to move into 2025 with an agenda for our bridge preservation archives and training in Arts Crafts Trades and Greenbelts for the next generation of restorationists.
Programs
2 programs
Relocation to Manistee MI able to secure a property where the efforts of the non profit could continue in a larger area with efforts to expand our mission to education in Arts Crafts and Trades needed for all restoration work not just bridges. Our efforts to restore a barn and work area will help to educate those interested on bridge preservation and the skills needed for restoration including welding engineering hot riveting and the building trades required which we previewed by building out an apartment and preparing the trailer for a new life.
Workshops being planned in 2024 for the property in Manistee including work on Mary Street Bridge which was moved to Michigan for restoration and currently belongs to Bach Steel. This bridge will be part of the series on bridge restoration in the future. Other training opportunities for buildings include all of the trades. Other brainstorming included training in all trades food scent and art.
