The oasis initiative foundation promotes religious literacy and learning by offering trusted scholarship and mentorship on islamic theology, sacred law, and spirituality. The organization provides classes, lectures, and small-group study circles that help members of the muslim community and people of other faith traditions understand the islamic tradition and its application to contemporary life. The oasis initiative foundation also creates opportunities for service by encouraging participants to translate learning into compassionate action for their families, neighborhoods, and wider society.
Zakat is the islamic practice of charitable giving to support local and global communities. Zakat is obligatory for all who are able to give. Within islam, it is considered a personal responsibility to ease others economic hardship and eliminate inequality.
These expenditures relate to the development and production of d. Umar f. Abd-allah's book project.
