The Open and Affirming (ONA) Coalition advocates for the dignity, safety, and full belonging of LGBTQ+ people in the church and in the wider world. We equip congregations in the United Church of Christ to welcome and affirm LGBTQ+ people, and to live out that commitment through education, advocacy, and public witness.

The Coalition hosted its 2024 National Gathering in Cincinnati, Ohio, bringing together 125 attendees from across the United States for worship, workshops, preaching, and community building. The gathering provided theological, pastoral, and justice-focused resources to strengthen local ONA ministries and deepen connection across the movement.
