The opportunity tree is a human services organization whose primary mission is to provide quality individualized services to people with physical or intellectual challenges in the least restrictive environment. The opportunity tree fosters community partnerships to promote options, opportunities and outcomes.

Programs

The opportunity tree provides day treatment for adults through socialization, training, activities, volunteer opportunities, work orientation training, and, as appropriate, counseling. This service promotes skills development in independent living, self-care, safety, communications, work skills, social relationships, hobbies, and retirement programs. Approximately 191 individuals were provided day treatment services in fy 2024.

The opportunity tree provides two different levels of service along the continuum from work adjustment to competitive employment. Under the group supported employment component, the opportunity tree develops work attitudes and habits, and augments the development of work related skills in integrated work settings. Wages are earned based on an individual's productivity. Under the individuals supported employment component, the opportunity tree provides job development, job placement, and job supervision with ongoing follow-up for each individual in order to facilitate success in competitive employment. Approximately 65 individuals were working and receiving paychecks in fy 2024.
