The partnership conducts research, surveys, and analysis of issues and projects that will have an impact on the local and state economy. The products of its work are used to educate the public and policy-makers.

Government affairs: the partnership is a resource to public sector decision-makers at the city, state and federal levels of government, providing expertise and advice on issues that affect economic growth, business development and job creation.

Expenses: $1.2M

Research and policy: the partnership conducts research, surveys, and analysis of issues and projects that will have an impact on the local and state economy. In 2024, the partnership continued to assist the new york city public schools (nycps) on career-connected learning initiatives by increasing industry engagement overall. The partnership holds a leadership role on the citywide student pathways advisory council, which provides industry input into curriculum, policy recommendations to support career-connected learning and acts as an ongoing resource for nycps. In 2024, the partnership also focused on supporting the work in education and workforce development that individual member companies are already undertaking.

Expenses: $1.3M

Big bets for nyc: an initiative to identify the policies and programs most necessary to achieve a stronger, safer, more affordable city. The partnership, with support from the rockefeller foundation, convened leaders from diverse sectors of the city to identify and build consensus around the policies and programs that most effectively address the foremost challenges facing the city. Key issue areas include affordable housing, public safety, infrastructure and resiliency, and the overall livability of the city.

Strategic initiatives: the coalition for new york's future - in september 2024, the partnership launched the coalition for new york's future, inviting all new yorkers to help shape the future of the city and state by becoming better informed and more engaged.this new civic engagement initiative is an extension of the partnership's longstanding get-out-the-vote efforts. Citizens join to receive timely updates about public policy issues in new york and information about how to get involved and have their voices heard. Principal areas of focus include public safety, affordability, and quality of life.
