Biomimicry Talon ChallengeIntroduction to concept of Biomimicry - observing the natural world and developing solutions to real world problems inspired by nature's adaptations and efficient activities/qualities. This program allows students to take nature's inspiration and create 3D tool based on a raptor's talon. Students will plan and hand-build design, then experiment and test the efficiency of their tool, and employ adaptations to improve the function of their designs. Test of final product will take place in the "Talon Challenge", a game-showlike competition among the students to have fun while observing how well their tool performs in grasping, grip strength and transporting various projects.
