Domestic violence services:the riley center and the st. Vincent de paul society of san francisco offer an array of services aimed at supporting survivors of domestic violence and gender-based violence. These services are grounded in a housing first approach, prioritizing safety, stability, and empowerment, offering services that help survivors rebuild their lives and achieve long-term security. The riley center serves a diverse population of survivors, ensuring its services are culturally competent, trauma-informed, and multilingual to meet the unique needs of individuals from various backgrounds.the riley center offers safe and confidential services for any survivor of an abusive relationship and their children through rosalie house, brennan house, and the community office.rosalie house is an emergency shelter in san francisco for survivors of gender-based violence both with and without children. Rosalie house provides a 24-hour crisis line, up to twelve weeks in a 23-bed emergency shelter, food, clothing, peer counseling, support groups, advocacy, case management, mental health services, and children's services.brennan house offers transitional housing in san francisco for survivors of gender-based violence, both with and without children. Brennan house provides up to 12 months of transitional housing, as well as the support services listed above for up to 32 clients and children for families that need more time to stabilize. The goal is to both remove barriers to housing and to secure available housing for these clients.the riley center community office provides follow-up counseling, case management, support groups and advocacy for survivors who are striving to maintain stability and self-sufficiency after having experienced domestic violence. The community office also provides information and referrals to other community agencies to ensure that the survivors we serve have access to comprehensive services. Other functions of the community office include community outreach and coordination of volunteer activities. Community office is an official access point for survivors to obtain a coordinated entry assessment. The community office is also a drop-in center for resources and services directly serving survivors of domestic violence.community office adheres to trauma-informed, client-centered, and housing first principles, ensuring low-barrier access to services. It operates with harm reduction principles and complies with privacy and confidentiality standards under federal and state laws. Services are delivered at designated access points, with bilingual support and interpretation services available as needed. The program also facilities feedback through surveys, tracks data on service effectiveness, and supports survivors in becoming document-ready for housing opportunities.the riley center domestic violence coordinated entry program, provides a comprehensive range of services to support individuals and families experiencing homelessness because of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking. The program connects survivors to resources and services aimed at ensuring their safety and housing stability. This includes outreach, problem-solving conversations, housing assessments, prioritization for housing and shelter, and referrals to the homelessness response system for temporary and permanent housing solutions.st. Vincent de paul society was awarded two emergency housing voucher (ehv) contracts through the department of homelessness and supportive housing (hsh) for programs funded by u.s. Department of housing and urban department (hud) to both provide housing navigation to and make housing placements for survivors of domestic violence specifically. These hud ehv dollars for domestic violence extend to december 2025.community office is also home to the uav dv program, which is funded by hsh. The urgent accommodation voucher (uav) program is designed to provide emergency short-term hotel stays and supportive services for domestic violence survivors experiencing homelessness. Its primary goal is to transition participants quickly from hotel placements to longer-term shelter or housing solutions. The program targets individuals and families who meet eligibility criteria set by the department of homelessness and supportive housing (hsh) and utilizes various referral systems, including coordinated entry, outreach teams, and self-referrals.
