Mission

To promote and support successful aging by providing direct services, volunteer opportunities and enrichment programs for older adults. During 2024, over 8,300 older adults were served through the Faith In Action Care and Vital Living Senior Center program areas.

Vital Living Senior Center Program - attendance of 47,710 was recorded for 3,780 older adults who participate in exercise classes, health and wellness programs, games (bridge, etc.), support groups and fellowship opportunities. Over 50 activities and virtual events were held each week in various locations throughout the community. The program also offers discussion groups, day trips, and extensive life-long learning programs held throughout the year. Insurance counseling through the N. C. Seniors Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) served 1,450 individuals.
