Mission

Climate changemakers prepared dozens of online resources, hosted weekly events on zoom, and supported volunteer leaders in hosting events in their communities. Resources and events teach best practices in civic engagement and equip volunteers to advocate to their representatives at all levels of government and other key stakeholders in support of policies and leadership to address climate change.

Climate changemakers identified candidates running for the u.s. House of representatives with strong climate action platforms in competitive races. We prepared dozens of online resources and hosted weekly zoom events dedicated to electing these candidates. At the direction of climate changemakers, volunteers called, texted, and wrote letters to voters in the candidates' districts, raised funds for their campaigns, raised awareness about these candidates on social media, and raised funds for nonprofit organizations in their district.

Expenses: $24K

Climate changemakers created online resources on best practices in civic engagement and important solutions to climate change. This program also includes staff time spent building relationships with members who exhibit strong leadership potential, and helping them become effective community facilitators, both within the digital climate changemakers community and within their own communities.
