Mission

The wilderness arts and literacy collaborative (walc)provides diverse low-incomestudents at two inner-city san francisco high schools with an interdisciplinaryacademic program. Using an environmental framework, core field studies, and stewardship activities, walc integrates science, history, literature, writing,technology, and art within a curriculum that focuses on the experiences of peopleof color. In working to diversify the field of environmental education, walc alsooffers enviromental educators workshops and training on this model of educationalreform.
