Programs
1 program
We encourage students to participate in the following programs:career exploration programs: career exploration programs consist of 30+ different programs intended to create opportunities for mostly 10th-12th grade students to attend and explore a career path that may interest them. Hosted by a business partner that operates within the particular career, these programs are categorized as part of the career exploration series (meeting after-school, multiple times throughout the school year) or the career exploration day programs which are one-day programs that typically meet during the school day. There is also a collection of nearly 30 virtual programs recorded that are available for on-demand viewing.career readiness education workshop: crew exists to help students who may not have set a career or educational plan after high school graduation. Upon arrival at the event, students will attend their choice of three (of the 16) career cluster informational presentations delivered by a business or training partner associated with that industry. In the second half of the day, students are provided the opportunity to attend post-secondary and employment skills sessions to help students make connections and possible decisions as they approach graduation.pre-apprenticeship: the pre-apprenticeship programs offer students the opportunity of a structured series of engagement programs that will help them in exploring career opportunities, build skills, and experience what an apprenticeship program would entail as they make their future career decisions. Ycal offers multiple pre-apprenticeship opportunities through our partners.manufacturing days: occurring around the time of national manufacturing day, observed on the 1st friday in october, manufacturing days seeks to build awareness of the opportunities and impact of manufacturing in our community and beyond. The primary focus of manufacturing days activity involves school tours designed for high school students at various participating manufacturers in york county.
