Ywca of brooklyn, inc.'s mission is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. Founded in 1888, the ywca of brooklyn, inc. Is the oldest organization specifically serving women and girls in brooklyn. Ywca of brooklyn, inc. Has 302 units of permanent, affordable homes for low income and formerly homeless women, most of whom are survivors of domestic violence; a college access and leadership development program for low-income girls, education and resources for immigrants and a social justice community center that provides a nexus for grassroots organizations to come together as one vibrant community.

Young women's college access and leadership the ywca brooklyn's comprehensive college access and leadership development program serves students from poverty impacted communities attending under-resourced high schools throughout the borough, who are the first generation in their families to attend college. Programming includes academic tutoring, assistance with college applications and financial aid, professional development and financial literacy. College persistence services support students through graduation. The leadership and community service components equip girls with the tools they need to lead self-determined lives and to become the next generation of change agents in their communities.immigrant women's services offers first-generation immigrants english classes, workforce/employability preparedness, financial literacy and health and wellness education.
