B street theatre produces seven professional theatrical productions on our mainstage each calendar year with occasional special engagements. These productions feature professional actors who are members of actors' equity association and are staffed with professional designers, directors, and stage managers. The mainstage primarily presents contemporary plays and new works for adult audiences. Since 1991, b street theatre's mainstage has been an incubator for new works, having produced over 150 world premieres as well as countless west coast and regional premieres. B street theatre is a core member of the national new play network, a national field-service organization committed to the production and continued life of new plays. As a core member, b street is recognized as one of the leading producers of new work in the country. For our budget size and location, the b street has a record number of subscribers - over 6,000 - who attend each of the seven productions. In a calendar year, over 50,000 patrons attend b street theatre's mainstage programming.
