Place trust:place is making critical mapping data more open, reliable and accessible through the creation of a data trust governed in the public interest and stewarded by an independent board of trustees. Accurate, up to date, and consistent mapping data is fundamental to efforts to provide resilient housing including the determination of locations for covid-19 vaccination sites, developing natural disaster risk models, reducing climate impact, and documenting land rights as just a few examples. Place provides the primary data upon which analysis, decisions and investments can be carried out in order to deliver.

1. Support a network of global partners:place supports global partners working in land tenure, property rights, and geospatial technology. Place supports organizations that are raising awareness about the importance of land tenure, securing property rights and using mapping technology in the developing world. Our support may include mentoring, networking, governance, technology platform, operational efficiency, fundraising strategies and impact measurement. Our support is aimed at enabling these organizations to accomplish their missions more effectively and expanding their reach to a greater numbers of beneficiaries.2. Finalized agreement and logistics for nigeria data collection in the capital city of abuja for early 2025:secured partnerships and field logistics for an urban mapping program in abuja to capture up-to-date imagery and geospatial layers. The data collection will support civic planning, service delivery, and locally-led analytics while enabling place members to build contextual products for governance and civil society uses.3. Created digital public infrastructure global map highlighting where dpi is in use:developed and published a global dpi map that catalogs national-scale systems for digital identity, payments, and data exchangehelping policymakers, funders, and implementers visualize adoption, gaps, and opportunities for interoperable public digital systems. The map aligns with broader dpi measurement efforts and serves as a reference for research and program design.4. Delivered funded training course to the govt. Of turks and caicos in november 2024:designed and delivered capacity-building sessions for government staff focusing on mapping data, data governance, or digital tools (as part of invest tci / government training programs). This training strengthened local skills for managing geospatial data and using place resources to support policy, planning, and service delivery.
