Outreach - thoreau community center (tcc) actively engages the community through recreation and outreach programs. A key initiative is the tcc youth board's "tmu assemblies," held at local middle and high schools features talented staff specializing in performing arts, including dancing, singing, rapping, acting, and spoken word. These artistic performances, combined with real-life testimonies, address pressing issues teens face in today's society. Collaboration is central to our efforts. Tcc youth partners with several organizations, notably the indigenous leaders of north america (ilna) and elevate navajo, whose staff regularly participate in our youth board meetings and events. Our mentorships and programs are designed for young people seeking to make a positive impact in their communities. These experiential, nature-based initiatives emphasize leadership development and empower participants to lead with confidence and purpose.
