The lmcc strives to develop a market in which all contractors, union and non-union, consistently meet their legal obligations to fairly compensate workers, provide proper safety conditions and compete fairly in the marketplace. To achieve its goal the lmcc actively investigates and pursues labor law violations; advocates for or against proposed legislation and regulatory rule making applicable to construction; educates employers, workers, and the general public of the value of utilizing highly skilled union labor on public and private works; and participates in programs designed to improve communication between workers, employers and union officials.
