Tools & tiaras exposes, inspires and mentors girls about becoming future skilled tradeswomen
Programs
3 programs
Monthly hands-on workshops - we held monthly workshops throughout the year, providing consistent opportunities for girls and women to learn trade skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, and more. Each session paired hands-on training with mentorship from tradeswomen professionals, creating an environment that emphasized both technical growth and community support. These workshops offered ongoing exposure to trade careers, built transferable skills, and helped participants develop lasting relationships that encourage persistence in male-populated industries.
Nyc doe - through our partnership with the new york city department of education, tools & tiaras delivered in-school workshops introducing students to trade careers. These sessions provided hands-on activities, demonstrations from tradeswomen, and information on pathways to apprenticeships and union careers. This program expanded access for underrepresented students and supported early career exploration in industries where women remain vastly underrepresented.
Tradeswomen build nations (twbn)- tools & tiaras leads an annual program where we bring tradeswomen to the tradeswomen build nations conference, the largest gathering of tradeswomen in north america. Through this experience, participants connect with thousands of peers in the construction industry, attend specialized workshops, and gain exposure to strategies that support career advancement within the union construction trades. The program strengthens leadership, builds professional networks, and equips tradeswomen with tools to improve and sustain their careers while reinforcing our mission that "jobs don't have genders."
