To end the practice of torture wherever it occurs and to empower survivors, their families and communities wherever they are.

HEALTH PSYCHOLOGICAL WELLNESS - This program provides Individual and group cousnelingin a safe, caring and confidential environment. After arriving inthe United States,surviorsmay experience depression,sleeiping problemsand fearfulness. Culturally based healing techniques,trauma-informedinterventions,yoga and message sessions and meditation all assist survivors to cope with multiple losses and traumas. This program also includes communities of healing, in which survivors and staff meet with one another to promote individual and collective healing, connections and recovery.
ADVOCACY AND OUTREACH- This program educates policymakers and the broader public about how to combat torture and support Survivors living in the United States. Survivors are involved in developing and implementing TASSCs advocacy agenda, which focuses on two or three key issues each year. As a part of this program, TASSC hosts its annual June Survivors Week to commemorate the United Nations International Day in support of victims of torture. The advocacy program hold a major conference and an advocacy day in the U.S. Congress.
