giving foster families a break from caretaking, The program has taken the statistic of 50% foster homes closing in one year and increased the statistic to 83% keeping their homes open longer than a year. Great improvement for a great program.
Our Dare to Dream (D2D)program offers on-on-one mentorship to youth in care ages 11-22, empowering them to develop skills, pursue passions, and achieve their goals through supportive relationships.May foster children are simply released from a home when they turn 18. While educatinoal opportunities may be available to them, the resource coordination is ofter beyond the skills and knowledge of the youth. This program trains mentors on foster care and resources that are available allowing them to support the youth on what the youth desires as next steps. 27 youth were matched through D2D. D2D trained and matched 27D2D adult mentors. This program can help the youth find ways to actually attend colleg4 and other programs where the tuition may be getting covered.Actually living while atteding those programs required more skills and support. Dare to Dream gives youth the support they need to believe in their dreams and make them happen.
