Urban agricultural program: the gardens provide two acres of production space, yielding average of 3000 pounds annually of produce and herbs. The urban agriculture program is a sustainable, farm-park that is a habitat for wildlife, pollinators, and native and medical plants. Chemical free farming practices have allowed this habitat to flourish while educating the community on the importance of healthy ecosystem in food production, environmental stewardship, and the fostering of natural spaces in urban areas.
The city chicks: the city chicks program provides urban chicken husbandry education opportunities to children and adults. Eggs are shared with low- income community members and tri cycle farms volunteers. Community members can learn urban chicken keeping, coop planning and other skills through classes and workshops designed to inspire development of home flocks which will possibly impact personal food security and nutrition.
