PUBLIC EDUCATION ON THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS. Tri-Valley CAREs researched, published, and disseminated analyses of Livermore Lab's hazardous and radioactive wastes, ongoing cleanup programs, and public health impacts related to nuclear weapons activities. The group provided written materials in English and Spanish and expert speakers on the contaminants on-site and emanating from the Livermore Lab Main Site and its Site 300 high explosives testing range. The group hosted community meetings and other events to expand public understanding of environmental compliance at Livermore Lab.

SUPPORT FOR NUCLEAR WEAPONS WORKERS MADE ILL BY ON-THE-JOB EXPOSURES. Tri-Valley CAREs initiated programmatic research, disseminated materials and conducted outreach to employees at Livermore Lab and other Department of Energy sites regarding the Energy Employees Compensation Program Act and related worker compensation laws. The group convened meetings of workers, and their families, who believed their illness(es) had been caused by on-the-job exposures to toxic and/or radioactive materials.
