Fishermen involved in sustaining our heritage (fish) is a louisiana-based, indigenously-led nonprofit organization and coalition of dedicated commercial fishermen. Our mission is to passionately advocate for environmental preservation, safeguarding against lng (liquefied natural gas) threats, and championing the rights of commercial fishermen to flourish and prosper. Through unwavering dedication, we raise awareness and extend direct mutual aid to uplift and support the vibrant community of gulf coast commercial fishermen.
A nonprofit organization working for more than 30 years on behalf of the residents of mossville, louisiana on multiple fronts: advocating for environmental justice, educating residents about the health and environmental impacts of toxic pollution; compelling federal and state environmental agencies to enforce human rights laws, and advocating for health services, relocation and pollution reduction to improve the lives and health of residents.
To empower residents to actively participate in local government and hold big oil industries accountable for their actions. Through initiatives such as filming city council meetings, maintaining a social media group to update on local policy and permits, mobilising community members to attend meetings and events, and facilitating think-tanks to envision positive change, we strive to promote transparency, foster community engagement, and advocate for the protection of our community's health, environment, and quality of life.
