Educate to promote an understanding and appreciation of nature, the environment, and ecological relationships. Foster and promote ecological conscientiousness in the south florida community by way of field trips for members and guests to various locations for birding and environmental studies. Use our native plant sales to inform and distribute plants. Volunteer participation at hands-on events to educate the community on the importance of native species and habitats.

Preserve and maintain the "doc thomas house", tropical audubon society's headquarters and site of various activities including: annual meeting, member meetings, meetings of the board of directors, the native plant sales, conservation concerts and other special events. The "doc thomas house" has also been made available to other organizations as well as for public meetings.
