Mission

The mission of the trust for trauma journalism is to identify and provide resources to support and advance innovative exemplary reporting on violence, conflict, tragedy, andtheir aftermath and to sustain best- practice global initiatives that prepare newsprofessionals for the impact of covering traumatic events. Trauma journalism defines journalists; professional work covering combat, crime, and catastrophe. Trauma journalists are first responders to news events and are often at risk of physical and emotional injury from the violence, conflict, and tragedy they coverto provide accurate information to the world. Every day, journalists put themselves at risk going where others can or won, to tell true stories and bear witness.
