2 programs
Excavations: The School maintains two year-round excavation sites in the Athenian Agora and at Ancient Corinth. In the spring approximately 20 students take part in three 4-week excavation sessions at Corinth and during the summer approximately 40 students take part in an 8-week excavation season at the Agora. Both excavations maintain archaeological collections which are overseen by the Greek Archaeological Service.
Publication and Libraries: The American School maintains and operates two research libraries holding about 268,000 volumes in total. The Blegen Library has one of the most complete collections in the world for research in the civilization of ancient Greece. The Gennadius Library houses both volumes and electronic resources which comprise one of the most significant collections for the study of Hellenic civilization after the end of antiquity. The School publishes scholarly research in the form of books 3-5 volumes per year and a quarterly journal.
