Mission

Tuesday's children provides healing and resilience for military families of the fallen and families affected by 9/11, turning pain into purpose while honoring their legacies. We exist to help families of the fallen and the 9/11 community build connections and foster post-traumatic growth through holistic programs.

Programs

4 programs

Mentoring - matches a bereaved youth who has lost a guardian or sibling to military loss with a caring adult mentor.

Expenses: $419K

Community service - this program included speaker series and forums for all populations that's we served at the time (9/11, military, covid bereaved, mass violence). The speaker's series were virtual events that centered on a topic of interest. We would invite an expert in the field to do a short presentation followed by a panel discussion with survivors from each service population. Topics included suicide, childhood bereavement, peer support, intergenerational trauma, advocacy, etc. The forum was a yearly all day in-person event. Similar to speaker series with experts and survivors we would have keynotes, panel discussions and workshops 2024 centered on the power of storytelling.

Expenses: $143K

Health & wellnesswe are there when we are needed to listen, provide resources, and help. Tuesday's children's programs enable our service population to, over time, heal, recover and ultimately thrive as we are doing with 9/11 families, 9/11 first responders and military families of the fallen.

Expenses: $117K

Project common bond brings together young adults from around the world who have experienced a personal traumatic loss due to violence related to terrorism. These young people gather for an eight-day healing and peace-building symposium where they engage in dialogue and community building activities which acknowledge and respect their differences while promoting friendship and understanding. This is the only international program of its kind which unites children directly impacted by a terrorist incident. Included in this population are children of military families of the fallen, who attended both the summer and winter sessions and benefited from the engagement opportunities with other young adults in similar circumstances.
