The Eagle Scholars student enrichment program is a transformative initiative dedicated to empowering first-generation college students through a comprehensive holistic approach to educational and professional development. By providing a robust support system that encompasses one-on-one mentorship opportunities, internships, apprenticeships, and targeted scholarships, the program addresses critical barriers faced by underserved students. Our program follows youth through their college years providing support in the areas of prevention and intervention, academic and social preparation and environmental support.

The Urban Garden, initiated in 2015, promotes STEM and agriculture with positive behavioral changes that include better nutrition and increased physical activity while teaching financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills to youth through farmers markets. The program has expanded to offer summer STEM camps and implement sustainable regenerative agriculture practices. We broadened our reach to introduce agriculture to the 18 - 35 age demographic through paid internships and established a monthly educational partnership with the University of Houston. The organization provides produce to seniors citizens for free throughout the greater Houston area. The key objective remains helping student leaders apply lessons learned in school to the service of creating a community garden within an urban food desert. The issues being addressed include the lack of access to fresh fruits and vegetables in the community and resolving high rates of obesity through education.
