Mission
UJUMP was formed for the purpose of providing mentoring and youth development to at-risk students located in the Wichita, KS area. UJUMP's activities commenced with the 2021-2022 school year. Each school year, UJUMP adds approximately 24 5th Grade students to the program. Students added each school year remain in the mentorship program until graduating high school. Students selected to participate are identified by school administrators as children who lack an appropriate support structure outside of school, those who can benefit from development of social and interpersonal skills, and those who can benefit from the presence of a role model invested in their personal fulfillment. Outcome goals are to elevate academic performance, behavior & attendance; goal setting; self-esteem & confidence; positive choices; and academic support in the home.
