Mental health program - ukrainian american house provides culturally and linguistically appropriate emotional support to ukrainian refugees affected by war-related trauma. Many clients experience depression, ptsd, and insomnia as a result of violence, loss, and displacement. The program offers individual and group therapy, peer counseling, and referrals to licensed psychologists. With client consent, we also assist with care coordination, interpretation, and accompany clients to appointments to ensure they receive the support they need.
Education program - ukrainian american house helps refugee and immigrant families access important services such as food, housing, and school enrollment. Our staff assist parents with registering their children for school and completing necessary paperwork. The program offers english classes for all ages and skill levels, taught by trained volunteers, to help participants improve language skills and become more independent. We also provide job readiness support, including resume building and career preparation. Families are encouraged to take part in community and school activities that support learning and help build connections.
Refugee support program - ukrainian american house assists refugees and immigrants in navigating life in the u.s., offering both immediate and long-term support. Services include help with housing, applying for benefits, finding employment, and obtaining identification or driver's licenses. While focused mainly on the sacramento region, the program also provides support to refugees in napa valley and other areas.
