Founded in 1859, the Ulster County Historical Society (UCHS) is the oldest county historical society in New York State. Housed at the historic Bevier House Museum, UCHS is dedicated to bringing Ulster Countys history alive through dynamic storytelling, engaging exhibits, and collaborative programs. As both a steward of the regions rich historical resources and an educational hub for the community, UCHS fosters a vibrant civic spirit by inspiring greater understanding and involvement. With an extensive collection of artifacts, documents, and cultural items, UCHS provides invaluable insight into the Hudson Valleys past while ensuring that diverse stories from the region are preserved and shared for generations to come
