Dg/gtm - hr processing: the objective of this program is to improve processing of human resources activities (hiring, appointing, pay-setting, performance evaluation) for family members of foreign service personnel employed at posts overseas and in the department of state, to ensure consistency and reduce errors. The bureau of global talent management, tasked with undertaking a comprehensive study and implementing improvements, has appointed a project manager, hired a research assistant, identified best practices, and begun working with hr officers throughout the department to implement changes. Target date for completion is spring 2025.
Meridian-cox foreign service seminar for emerging leaders: the cox foundation and meridian international center jointly developed and hosted a successful seminar that brought students from around the country to washington dc for a week of orientation to careers in the u.s. Foreign service. The seminar offered participants a unique opportunity to engage with practitioners and visit institutions that shape u.s. Foreign policy. The project concluded successfully in june 2024.
