Unicoi County Search & Rescue

The Unicoi County Search and Rescue team's mission is to save lives by providing rapid, effective search and rescue operations in remote or difficult-to-reach areas, while prioritizing safety and providing education on outdoor safety. We dedicate ourselves to saving lives through preparedness, teamwork, and service. Our most significant response activities in 2024 include response to flooding in Unicoi County cause by rainfall from Hurricane Helene. UCSAR was involved in rescue operations on 27-28 Sept 2024 and recovery operations for missing persons daily through November 2024.
